Chapter Philanthropy

Chapter Philanthropy

Sigma Serves Children

In 1954, The Robbie Page Memorial became Sigma Sigma Sigma’s national philanthropy. Our philanthropy provides play therapy for children with terminal illnesses. By funding play therapy, we are able to give the children a normal environment to build their learning processes. Through play therapy, children learn to communicate with others, express feelings, modify behavior, develop problem-solving skills, and learn a variety of ways of relating to others.

Funds are normally donated to the Children’s Medical Center in Dallas, Texas and the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. All of our sisters take pride in participating in events that help to raise money for such an important cause. In the past we have held events such as a Sixty Second Scramble, Frats at Bat, and Sigma Stacks to support The Robbie Page Memorial Fund.

March of Dimes

In 2016, Sigma Sigma Sigma partnered with March of Dimes, yet another great cause that relates to helping children. March of Dimes focuses on reducing infant mortality through research. This organization also provides support to mothers who have a partner in the military or who are in the military themselves. Sigma Sigma Sigma provides March of Dimes' research centers with grants twice a year; these funds come from the money raised by chapters like ours! Bingo for Babies and Puppies for Preemies are just two of our many events that support March of Dimes.

Philanthropy is very important to Sigma Sigma Sigma and we look forward to continue raising money and awareness for an important cause- empowering children!
